Emergency Management Wants All to Be Prepared for Severe Weather

March 22 - 26 is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Nebraska. The Grand Island/Hall County Emergency Management Dept. wants everyone to be ready, and will be holding a free severe weather presentation in April to help.

Severe Weather Awareness Week

March 22 - 26 is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Nebraska. Grand Island/Hall County Emergency Management Department encourages every agency and organization to review its severe weather and tornado plans and procedures.

Every year, severe summer storms create one of our most dangerous hazards in the form of heavy rains, flooding, lightning, high winds and tornados. Now is the time to prepare for this summers storm hazards.

The National Weather Service and Grand Island/Hall County Emergency Management want citizens to be knowledgeable and prepared regarding potentially severe and hazardous spring and summer weather.

To help, there will be a free severe weather presentation that will be open to the community on Wednesday, April 14, at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, located at 100 East 1st Street.
