A Clay County judge ruled a Harvard man should be tried for an April bank robbery.

So 27-year-old Brent Sanders will be tried on charges of robbery, use of a firearm to commit a felony, being a felon in possession of a firearm and with being a habitual offender.

Attorney Michael Burns said he expects Sanders to plead not guilty when he is arraigned on Aug. 11. Burns declined to discuss details of the case.

The Nebraska State Patrol says a man with a small, black handgun robbed the First Bank & Trust on April 20. No one was hurt, but the man fled with more than $4,700.

Investigators arrested Sanders last month after linking him to a gun found discarded near a bridge. That gun matched the description of the weapon used in the robbery.
