Authorities are investigating the death of a 51-year-old Sidney man whose body was found on the shoulder of Interstate 80 near Sutherland in western Nebraska.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office said Monday that the body was identified as that of Robert Lundgreen IV.

The sheriff's office says several motorists had called in about the body early Saturday morning.

Deputies talked to the driver of a semitrailer who said he struck something but he wasn't sure what it was. He told deputies that he couldn't avoid the accident by swerving because another vehicle was passing his.

Sheriff's office says the trucker is not suspected of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, but blood tests are being done.

Deputies also are checking into how Lundgreen had gotten onto the interstate.
