A 20-year-old Aurora man is dead after he crashed his BMW on Interstate-80.

According to York County Sheriff Dale Radcliff, around 11:30 Friday night Jordan Schaffert was merging westbound onto I-80 from the York interchange when he lost control of his car.

Sheriff Radcliff said Schaffert's car jumped over the median, became airborne and flew into the path of an oncoming tractor-trailer.

Radcliff said Schaffert was ejected from his car and died on the scene.
Radcliff said the man was not wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, Mark Wilson of Ohio was not injured.

The York County Sheriff's Office is still investigating the accident. Sheriff Radcliff said high speeds could have played a role in the accident but alcohol has not been ruled out.
