From Grand Island Public Schools:
An engineering student from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will work with Barr Middle School eighth-graders on Friday, Dec. 3, for a lesson that incorporates engineering into their math classes.
Michelle Kunze, an eighth-grade math/algebra teacher at Barr, prepared the lesson last summer as part of a workshop she completed at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
The UNL student will help eighth-graders record data using a radar gun,
she said.
The lesson also uses information she received from Grand Island Public Works Director Steve Riehle. Riehle is a registered professional civil
engineer.
