Grammy Award Winning Artist, Bill Harley, to Perform in Kearney

The Merryman Performing Arts Center is proud to announce that Grammy Award winning artist, Bill Harley, will be giving performances in Kearney on January 14th at the Merryman Center. He will give two school performances during the day and one public performance at 7 pm.

A prolific author and recording artist, Bill Harley is a regular commentator on NPR’s “All Things Considered” and featured on PBS. Harley joined the National Storytelling Network’s Circle of Excellence as a Performing Artist in 2001and tours nationwide! Bill uses song and story to paint a vibrant and hilarious picture of growing up, schooling and family life.

This event is made possible with support from the Mid-America Arts Alliance, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Nebraska Arts Council, Target, and the Kearney Area Community Foundation.

Bill Harley…LIVE! Will “kick off” the Kearney Storytelling Festival! Bill Harley designs his performances for the age groups that will be attending. His school performances will be groomed for his audiences and the public performance is designed for the entire family.

The addition of music, song and audience interaction enhances the performances. His work spans the generation gap, reminds us of our common humanity and challenges us to be our very best selves.
