Nebraska Muzzleloader Deer Season Set to Open

Snow is not expected to hamper the start of Nebraska's muzzleloader deer season.

It's scheduled to run from Wednesday through Dec. 31.

Last year snow covered much of the state, and state officials say hunters brought in 15 percent fewer deer than in 2008.

Permits cost $30 for residents and $209 for nonresidents.

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has set the bag limit at one deer of either sex and one antlerless white-tailed deer. Antlerless deer are defined as any deer without antlers or with antlers less than 6 inches long.
