Nominations Being Accepted for GIPS Legendary Educator Award

The Grand Island Education Foundation is accepting nominations for the Legendary Educator Award through Jan. 10.

Legendary Educator Award Nominations should include the following information:
1. Legendary Educator Nominee’s Name
2. Subject/grade taught, or job duty
3. Name of school(s) where educator was employed
4. Name, address, phone number, and e-mail address of person submitting nomination
5. An explanation of why the nominee is “legendary” and how the nominee has benefited many students

Nominations shall be returned to the Grand Island Education Foundation, P.O. Box 4904, Grand Island, NE 68802-4904.

The Legendary Educator Award Program was inaugurated in 2009 to recognize the outstanding educators who have made a difference to the thousands of students who have attended Grand Island Public Schools. The award(s) will be presented at the Grand Island Senior High School Hall of Honor Banquet on Oct. 6, 2011.

To qualify for the Legendary Educator Award, a person must be a former employee of Grand Island Public Schools. Nominees may be living or deceased. Nominees shall be former teachers, coaches, counselors, administrators, or other educators and shall have
made a significant and lasting contribution to the education of many students. Up to two awards will be made.

Nomination forms are available on Grand Island Public Schools website found through the link below and at the Kneale Administration
Building, 123 S. Webb Road.
