Stuhr's Annual "Fantasy of Trees" Features Over 80 Trees, Winners in Multiple Categories

Stuhr Museum's annual celebration of decoration, the "Fantasy of Trees" exhibit opens today and runs through Sunday, January 2, 2011.

This year's exhibit features an amazing 88 trees - 11 more than 2009 and another record for the museum - lavishly decorated by Hall County organizations, businesses and individuals. The exhibit represents one of the biggest displays of Christmas trees in the state. Many organizations have made participation in the "Fantasy of Trees" a regular part of their holiday season, and Stuhr is proud to continue that tradition.

In addition, this year the organizers of the exhibit expanded the awards categories, and with the exception of the People's Choice award to be given during Stuhr Museum's Christmas Past and Present event, Dec. 4, 10, 11 & 12, the winners have been announced.

They are:
Best Handmade: Prairie Fibers Weavers and Spinners Guild
Best Handmade Honorable Mention: Centura Schools Art Department
Best For-Profit: Farmer's Insurance; Kevin Fraley Agency
Best For-Profit Honorable Mention: Union Pacific Employees Club #16
Best Non-Profit: Hall County FCE
Best Non-Profit Honorable Mention: H.A.T.S. Stuhr Museum
Best Decorations by Youth: Boys Town
Best Decorations by Youth Honorable Mention: Engleman Elementary Kindergartners
Best Traditional: Good Samaritan Society; Grand Island Village
Best Traditional Honorable Mention: CountryHouse Residencies
Best Creative: Snow's Floral
Best Creative Honorable Mention: Silk Flowers Keepsakes
