Ansley High School is in Lincoln for the State Volleyball Tournament.

"We are thrilled beyond words and this is a great accomplishment," said head coach Pat Hoblyn.

While winning the championship will be tough, the week ahead won't be the most difficult for Hoblyn. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in august and is half way through her chemotherapy treatments.

"The first thing i decided was that i had to approach it just like a game," said Hoblyn. "I had to develop a plan and what my defenses were going to be and a strategy and how i was going to attack it."

And that's made her a role model for her players.

"No matter what you can go talk to coach," said Ansley volleyball player Tazalea Scott. "She'll be there. She'll help you. She's one of those people that just inspires just by saying a simple little thing or she can give you a big long speech of what you can do better."

"She was our motivation to win for her," said Ansley volleyball player Taylor Rohde. "I mean it was all for her to show her we can do it and we'll still strong and we're thinking about her. So it looked good and she is doing good."

Ansley played hard, but did end up losing to Meridian. Still the coaches and players are happy to have made it this far, and look forward to next year. They hope to play in the State Championship again but this time with a cancer free coach.

"I have learned how resilient I have been," said Hoblyn. "How resilient the team has been to go along this journey with me. And it's amazing how phenomenal people are."
