In 2002 a team from St. Mark's United Methodist Church went to Reynosa Mexico on a medical mission trip. That trip planted the seed for Clinic with a Heart and affirmed what a great difference medical volunteers can make.
Since 1971, Doctors without Borders has been providing medical aid aid in nearly 60 countries to people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe. The organization is committed to bringing quality medical care to people caught in crisis regardless of race, religion, or political affiliation.
To support the work this organization is doing in Haiti and around the world, a treasured Clinic with a Heart donor has offered to match up to $10,000 dollars in donations made to Doctors Without Borders. Making a donation is easy. Simply go to the website http://www.firstgiving.com/clinicwithaheartcares. If you wish to write a check, please make your check payable to Doctors Without Borders and send to Clinic with a Heart, PO Box 22851, Lincoln, NE 68542.
Clinic with a Heart provides basic medical care and medication assistance through seven free clinics each month. Care is provided to residents of Lincoln and surrounding communities who have uncounted financial, legal, language, awareness or other barriers to receiving healthcare. In 2009 Clinic with a Heart served 2,400 patients. Each of the seven monthly clinics is sponsored by a church. Over 600 volunteers provide this care. For more information, visit the link below.
