Don't get towed! Where you can and can't park in Lincoln

Mayor Chris Beutler has declared a snow emergency for the City of Lincoln, effective at 6 p.m. Monday. Parking is banned on both sides of all arterial streets and emergency snow, bus and school routes.

On Monday evening police responded to 69 accidents in Lincoln alone. One of the accidents involved a semi and took out a power line and stop light. But also left a woman in critical condition.

Seventy crews are on roads putting down salt that's pre-wet with brine. Crews will have a shift change Monday evening, but will continue working overnight to prepare for Lincoln's morning commute.

The White House says President Donald Trump has signed a bill reopening the government, ending a 69-hour display of partisan dysfunction after Democrats reluctantly voted to temporarily pay for resumed operations.
