In the Friday, Jan. 10 Mega Millions drawing, a $1 million winning ticket was sold in Nebraska. The winning ticket was purchased at No Frills Supermarket #805, 13215 West Center Road in Omaha.
The winning Mega Millions numbers for the Jan. 10 drawing were: white ball numbers 8, 28, 36, 37, 57; Mega Ball® number 8. The winning ticket sold in Omaha matched all five of the winning white ball numbers for the $1 million prize. This is the second $1 million Mega Millions prize won in Nebraska since the game was modified in October 2013.
“Someone in Nebraska is waking up a million dollars richer today because of the new Mega Millions game,” said Jim Haynes, Director of the Nebraska Lottery. “We are encouraging our Mega Millions players to check their tickets carefully for winners. You can check your tickets at any Nebraska Lottery retailer and at nelottery.com, or you can call the Nebraska Lottery offices at 402-471-6100.”
Prizes for Nebraska Lottery Lotto games can be claimed up to 180 days after the draw date. Prizes of $20,000 or more must be claimed at Lottery headquarters in Lincoln. Friday’s winning ticket becomes the second million-dollar winner in Nebraska since Mega Millions changed its prize payout on Oct. 22, 2013.
Previously, the amount won for matching only the first five numbers was $250,000. The winner has 180 days to claim their prize.
No jackpot-winning tickets were sold, so the jackpot for the Friday, Jan. 14 drawing is $30 million or $16.1 million with the cash option selected.
The odds of winning $1 million playing Mega Millions are 1 in 18,492,204. The overall odds of winning any Mega Millions prize are 1 in 14.7.
