KOLN/KGIN to Debut Area's First Local 4PM Newscast on Sept. 14
Lincoln, Neb. Due to the 2010 US Open Tennis men's championship, the 10/11 First at Four newscast will debut Tuesday, September 14th.

Due to the 2010 US Open Tennis men's championship, the 10/11 First at Four newscast will debut Tuesday, September 14th. Tennis coverage started at 3:00 p.m. on channels 10/11. You can still watch Oprah's Farewell Season Premiere featuring guest John Travolta on MyTV at 3:00 p.m.
First at Four is a half-hour show and will be co-anchored by Jon and Taryn Vanderford with meteorologists Brandon Rector and Stephanie Ortmann. 10/11 First at Four will be broadcast on Ch. 10/11 and streamed live at http://www.1011now.com.
“We are always looking for ways to provide our viewers with the news they need and local programming they want,” said KOLN/KGIN News Director Jerry Howard. “Recently we debuted a live half-hour sports show, 10/11 PrepZone Weekly on MyTV. We've also increased our commitment to our web channel and social media. Adding the 4:00 p.m. newscast is just a continuation of that effort.”

“Not only are people busier than ever, but with the advent of smart phones and social media, the demand for local, meaningful, and interactive content has increased,” said Jon Vanderford. “We’re adding a locally-produced newscast that viewers will be able to stream live wherever they are. It’s one more way to provide them with what they want, when they want it.”
“10/11 First at Four is a way for us to dig into the important topics. This newscast is more than just the news of the day – it’s what people are talking about,” added Taryn Vanderford.
Beginning Monday, Sept. 13th, KOLN/KGIN launches its new morning newscast, First News Nebraska (weekdays 5-7 a.m.). The newscast will be anchored by Chad Silber and Erika Tallan, with meteorologist Brad Anderson. Jon Vanderford and meteorologist Brad Anderson will continue to anchor 10/11 News at Noon.
KOLN/KGIN currently broadcasts six weekday newscasts: The 10/11 Early Show (5 a.m.-6 a.m.), 10/11 This Morning (6 a.m.-7a.m.), 10/11 News at Noon (12 p.m.-12:30 p.m.), 10/11 Today at 5 (5 p.m.-5:30 p.m.), 10/11 News at Six (6 p.m.-6:30 p.m.), and 10/11 News at Ten (10 p.m.-10:35 p.m.). In addition, KOLN/KGIN broadcasts three locally-produced newscasts each Saturday and Sunday.
