Windstream announced changes in its service delivery organization Thursday morning that will result in the elimination of 34 positions in Lincoln on Oct. 1. The service delivery group processes sales orders for business customers.
The changes follow a detailed, nine-month review of the organization. Windstream officials say the cuts are designed to enhance service to business customers by consolidating work functions into three primary locations, Matthews, N.C., Dalton, Ga. and Greenville, S.C., which will result in greater efficiency and consistency. Approximately 60 new positions will be added in Matthews, Dalton and Greenville, and employees affected by the reorganization can apply for those as well as other open positions within Windstream.
Windstream is providing severance and outplacement assistance to the affected employees.
Windstream has approximately 285 employees in Lincoln and 375 in Nebraska.
