There's no doubt Husker fans across the state are talking about the big win over Western Kentucky.

For many, red-shirt Freshman Quarterback Taylor Martinez was the biggest topic.

Brandon Hulsebusch says, "I'm really impressed with Martinez because his arm is alright but he's so fast and I think it's going to be a dynamite year for offense."

Taylor Laughlin says, "I like that Taylor Martinez started. He had a really great game."

Jeff Martin says, "I'm glad he got some playing time. It's good for him to get the actual game experience so he gets used to it."

Before the game, it was a quarterback quandary -- who would start?

Now, the guy they call "T-magic" has got Husker nation buzzing. And the other quarterbacks look like good insurance policies.

Eric Sadlo says, "It's a good quandary to have I guess. I'm kind of biased towards Cody Green, I thought he played really well but I liked what Taylor brought to the game."

Hulsebusch adds, "It would be better to have 3 good quarterbacks than one great one just because there's going to be injury."

There were some mixed feelings about the Blackshirts.

Sadlo says, "It's hard to be too disappointed in the 49-10 victory. I thought the defense would play better though."

Hulsebusch adds, "Especially after last night and reading up on some defense stats, I think we're going to do just fine."

The Suh-less defense is a hot topic on campus right now.

Robert Bevins says, "It's not quite the same without Suh but I think we should still do pretty well this year."

Martin adds, "Ever since he left, they pulled it all together and worked really hard and worked well together."

And there's no doubt Husker fans are already looking forward to improvements when the Big Red takes on Idaho Saturday.
