LINCOLN, Neb. -- The rain didn't keep 1,200 people from participating in the 12th Annual Trail Trek Sunday.
"Oh the rain doesn't stop us," said Linda Chrastil. "You know everybody's out here and the families are out here and it just is so much fun that the rain doesn't even faze you, we're just having a good time. Plus it kind of cools you down a little."
The family-friendly event helps the city of Lincoln raise money for the trail systems.
All of the proceeds go toward upkeep and expansion of Lincoln's bike paths.
The ride started at Haymarket Park and spread through the city. There were several routes for riders to choose from, ranging from 14 to 50 miles.
Registration was $20.
