According to the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office, seven people in three vehicles were involved in a crash two miles north of Bennet at 158th Street and Highway 43 around 8:00 a.m. Wednesday.
Sergeant Tom Brookhouser said a GMC pickup was southbound on Highway 43 ready to make a turn when a minivan slammed into the back of the pickup. Brookhouser said that caused the GMC pickup to veer into oncoming traffic and hit a Ford pickup head on.
Brookhouser said a helicopter transported one of the people in the GMC pickup to a Lincoln hospital. The passenger and the driver of the Ford pickup were both taken to the hospital by ambulance. Brookhouser said a mom and her three passengers also went to the hospital for observation. Brookhouser said none of the injuries are life-threatening.
