Ad Angers Humane Society

See that huge ad in USA Today, Wednesday?

Talking about the full-page one, complete with a cute dog and its sad-looking eyes.

Taken out by a new group called "The Humane Society for Shelter Pets," it slams the HSUS, (The Humane Society of the United States.)

It basically accuses the HSUS of being cheap and not donating much to local pet shelters like the one in Lincoln.

But the HSUS fired back calling the ad "deceptive, scurrilous and false."

HSUS also says it's donated 43 million dollars to various animal welfare groups over the last few years and works to protect animals and fight animal abuse all over the place.

We tried contacting the group behind the ad, "humaneforpets.com"
but have yet to hear back. It's not clear yet what their motivation for launching the ad is, and we hope to get a hold of them for comment.
