Construction is scheduled to begin next summer on an 85 million-dollar ethanol plant near the southeast Nebraska town of Auburn.

Jack Alderman of E-Energy Auburn L.L.C. said the gas-fired plant would produce 50 million gallons annually and would be similar in size to an Adams plant his group plans to begin building in the spring.

Alderman said he and partner Everett Larson of Adams would begin selling stock in the spring to investors in both communities.

There are eleven ethanol plants operating in Nebraska that produce more than 500 million gallons annually.

Besides the proposed plants in Adams and Auburn, plans have been announced this year to build plants in Albion, Atkinson, Fairmont, Grand Island, Ord and Wahoo.
