Hall County Sheriff deputies say alcohol is a suspected factor in a crash that killed a 29-year-old Grand Island man.
The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. Monday on Highway 281 near Guenther Road in Grand Island, about three miles north of I-80.
Investigators say 30-year-old Hermino Alamilla of Lincoln is being charged with driving under the influence and felony motor vehicle homicide.
Deputies say Alamilla lost control of his car, entered the median, rolled several times and came to rest in the northbound lane of Highway 281.
A pickup driven by 26-year-old Megan Brodrick of Grand Island struck the rolled over car.
Alamilla had two passengers in his car. Officials say Jerry Ray Ramirez was ejected as the car rolled and died at the scene.
Alamilla was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
His other passenger and Brodrick were not taken to the hospital.
The crash shut down the highway, but it has since been reopened.
