Closing the middle school at Bradshaw in central Nebraska may be on the Heartland School District's to-do list.
School district officials held a public meeting Thursday night to discuss whether to keep the Bradshaw School open.
In 1998, the district had 470 students. Eight years later, it has 336 students.
The Bradshaw attendance center holds classes for fifth through eighth grade students. The nearby Henderson school houses the rest.
It would take five of six school board member votes to make the change.
Because it is a nine-month process, any decision to close the Bradshaw School would not take effect until the fall of 2007.
