Central Nebraska Snowfall
Grand Island Getting stuck was the name of the game with more than a foot of snow on the ground in Central Nebraska.

An orchestra of snow tires could be heard through Central Nebraska Monday. It was the symphony of getting stuck. Everyone was buried under a foot of snow that just kept coming all day long.
"I didn't figure it would come like this," says Clayton Cushing as he tried to get his car out of a drift.
The snow did come, in large amounts and very quickly making getting around town a chore.
"As I started I just slid over and hit a drift and it pushed me over, I tried to keep it straight but got nothing. So I've been sitting here for an hour," says Cushing.
The snow came so fast plows had to remain on the main roads making side streets impassable. The interstate and highways were too dangerous. Truck stops became pretty popular.
"It's filling up there's no place to park anymore hardly," says truck driver Jack Hadley.
Officials urged motorists to stay off the roads if possible and many with first hand experience agreed.
"If you don't have to be out don't be out," says Cushing.
Whether at home or on the road, one thing was certain, this was no way to welcome in spring.
"I figure it's a government plot, it's gotta be," says Hadley with a laugh.
Maybe it's not a government plot, but the local governments were doing their best just to keep up with the snowfall.
One good note, many of those that got stuck were good natured.
Many treated this like it was just a big joke from mother nature and everybody got a laugh.
