Nebraska's first NCAA Tournament appearance in 16 years did not go well. The Huskers lost to Baylor, 74-60 in the second round Friday in San Antonio. NU head coach Tim Miles was ejected in the second half. Miles got two technical fouls in a span of a few minutes to earn the automatic ejection.
Miles ran to the scorer's table before the 2nd technical to tell the refs about a shot clock error but the official gave him the technical anyways.
After the game referee Karl Hess issued this statement:
“The coach from Nebraska was assessed a class A technical foul due to the parameters of rule 10, section 3, article 2, items E and F. The penalty for the second technical foul was ejection - by rule.
“Prior to the second technical foul call, there was a shot clock error that both the shot clock operator and officials did not notice. The error should have been noticed and could have been corrected.”
Huskers shot only 23 percent in the first half.
NU ends the year with a 19-13 record in Miles' 2nd season in Lincoln.
