Eleven local non-profits received a very generous gift Tuesday, one which will help them support families in need.
The Lincoln Community Foundation announced a $2.6 million endowment which will provide the eleven non-profits with $10,000 each and every year.
The money was provided by family of the late Harley Bair.
Every organization chosen focuses on improving the lives of families, women, children and seniors - causes those who knew him say Bair cared about most.
Foodbank Director Scott Young says they'll be able to turn that $10,000 into $60,000 worth of food to help feed the hungry.
Bair also established a $50,000 scholarship through Lincoln Rotary East.
It's a gesture which caps off a lifetime of giving, and right in time for the holidays.
