Lincoln, Neb. Husker fans can relax if you were worried about traveling on 27th Street for a home game.
Devin Biesecker, an engineer on the project, says the viaduct will re-open noon on Friday, mainly due to the influx of people coming into the city for the first Husker game.
The construction project was supposed to be done this week, however, Biesecker says the reason for the postponement was a delay in materials for the bridge.
"This week was the completion date for the project the contractor ran into some delays, not on his end but some delays in the project and it's still on going," said Biesecker.
But the project will resume sometime at the beginning of October when many of the games are away.
Biesecker says the new due date for the completion of the project will be around Halloween.
The delay in the project will not cost the city any more money.
