It may be an unlikely setting for a wedding, but that did not stop a Lincoln couple from exchanging their vows at Bryan LGH Medical Center.

When Katie Lautenback and Garrett Schweitzer were planning their wedding in March, they did not plan on having it at the hospital. However when the groom's mother, Lisa Schweitzer got into an accident earlier this week their plans changed.

"It was really hard in the beginning when we first started to think about what we're going to do with the wedding because we didn't really want to postpone the wedding. And we wanted to make sure she was part of it, " said Garrett.

Lisa's injuries prevented her from attending the wedding scheduled for Friday. That is when they came up with the idea of bringing the wedding to her.

"They wanted me to be a part of their day, and for me to be here makes it even more special," said Lisa.

However, Garrett says the decision was based on what his parents have lived throughout his childhood. To put your family first.

"Family to her and my dad are top priority so i think when she saw that we were putting family as our top priority too. I think it really meant a lot to her,"said Garrett.

The couple will have a formal ceremony and reception tomorrow in Omaha.

Family, not how much is spent the best base to a marriage. Kudos to the bride and groom. May you have a long, healthy marriage.
