Alcohol was a factor in a deadly crash outside of Hallam on November 1st according to the Lancaster County Sheriff.
Sheriff Terry Wagner says the toxicology reports show 18 year old Lucas Scheffert had a blood alcohol level of .126.
Wagner says Scheffert was leaving a Halloween party in Hallam when his car left the road and ended up in a ditch. Wagner says Scheffert was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies found out Scheffert had been at a party in Hallam that night and had been drinking. Wagner says Larry Vancura hosted the party and he has been cited on two counts of procuring alcohol for a minor and will be in court January 9th.
