An Arizona man offered $25,000 to a Seward County deputy if the deputy would let him go.
According to the Seward County Sheriff's Office, the incident began with a traffic stop Thursday. An Arizona man was contacted at the Goehner Rest Area along I-80. The deputy suspected that the man, 55-year-old Scott Pride, was involved in other criminal activity.
In a statement, Chief Deputy Daniel Hejl said Pride offered the deputy $25,000 if the deputy would let him go, rather than arresting him.
Pride was arrested for bribery. Hejl said the investigation is continuing and further charges are posssible.
