You've probably heard the phrase "freedom doesn't come free."

Well, that took on a new meaning for many people today as they laid to rest a friend, colleague, and loved one who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

Hundreds attended a funeral and graveside ceremony for United States Army Captain Rob Yllescas in Osceola.

Yllescas, 31, graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and his met his wife in Osceola.

The outpouring of love was evident with the hundreds who showed up for Yllescas' funeral.

He died last Monday at the National Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland from wounds suffered during an attack in Afghanistan on October 28th.

But today, people remembered the outgoing guy they'll miss so much.

Friends and family filled the Osceola city auditorium, paying their respect to a soldier they say died doing what he loved - serving his country.

Though Yllescas was just 31, family members say he had done more in his life than most do by age 80.

Those who knew Yllescas describe him as a top of the line soldier and a vivacious man but most of all, he was passionate about the people around him.

"When you went out with Rob, it was first class all the way. That guy, he cared more about people than he did himself. It was obvious today," said Yllescas' brother-in-law, Layne Gissler.

Timothy Decker, Yllescas' friend and colleague added, "The amount of time and energy that he put into spending with his girls was incomparable to anyone I know."

President Bush decorated Yllescas with a purple heart last month.

The soldier and his wife Dena have two daughters.
