Authorities are investigating the shooting of a rural Overton woman at her home Thursday afternoon. Overton is east of Lexington in Dawson County.

Accodring to Dawson County Sheriff Gary Reiber, 33-year old Sandra Jindra of rural Overton suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen around 4:20 p.m. Thursday. Sheriff Reiber said the incident happened in her home. She was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, but her condition is not being released.

Reiber would not say whether the case was being treated as an attempted homicide, or whether there were any suspects in the case.
