A Grand Island woman faces an April hearing and a new charge in the suffocation death of her 7-week-old baby.
Tiffany Bohlen originally was charged with manslaughter in the death of her daughter, Caitlynne, last February. The charge was dismissed in August.
Bohlen's boyfriend then, 21-year-old Christopher Klein, pleaded no contest to manslaughter.
Deputy Hall County Attorney Bob Cashoili says he refiled against the 20-year-old Bohlen after reviewing evidence. The new charge is child abuse resulting in a death.
Authorities say Klein had placed a pacifier in Caitlynne's mouth, wrapped a blanket around her head and used a pillow to squeeze her against the side of her bassinet.
Klein says he learned the technique from Bohlen.
