A former Leigh man will be sentenced next month for attempted first-degree sexual assault of his stepdaughter.
Keith Purdie, 49, pleaded no contest to the charge on January 21st. In exchange, other charges were dismissed.
Court documents say the girl, now 13, told a school counselor in early 2008 that she had been sexually abused since she was 6. She also said she was forced to watch pornographic movies and view photos of naked women posted on the Internet.
Purdie's sentencing is scheduled for March 11. He faces up to 50 years in prison.
The victim's mother, Rose Purdie, was sentenced to probation on a misdemeanor count of child abuse.
The victim and two other children have been removed from the home.
