GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- The 28th annual 3rd City Steak Feed which benefits Grand Island Senior High School, Northwest High School, Grand Island Central Catholic High School, and Heartland Lutheran High School was held Saturday.
This year's event included 1,200 steaks and some of the best raffle prizes the event has ever seen.
The goal was to raise at least $40,000 to be split percent wise between each school.
"It's a huge help to all the schools to help buy uniforms and different things that are needed," said organizer Jennifer Wieland. "The community comes together in a great way and donates items, supports the schools and it's an awesome organization."
The organization will not know how much was raised Saturday for a couple of weeks.
People were lined up outside before doors opened and a steady crowd continued throughout the night to show support to high school athletics.
