Work on a new high school addition in Elm Creek is under way.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday, but construction has been going on for almost a week.
The new facility will hold new classrooms, offices, library, a commons area and cafeteria.
Superintendent Larry Babcock says the addition is needed -- not just for the school system, but for the community of Elm Creek.
The nearly $6 million addition is expected to be finished in time for the 2010-2011 school year.
