Tornadoes were been reported in the state Monday evening, with at least three confirmed.
One moved from south Lincoln to just west of Omaha, and the others were in Brownlee and north of O'neill.
The Nebraska Emergency Management Agency says at least five people near Eagle were injured in today's storm. NEMA officials say all five were in a car that was hit by debris that blew off a building.
Also near Eagle, a number of homes were damaged.
Near 212th and A Streets south of Eagle a car flipped over in the ditch with parts of a nearby house covering the ground around it. Neighbors said driver was in the car when wind knocked it off the road and flipped it into the ditch. According to those same neighbors the man appeared ok.
Further up the hill, one families garage was torn off the house, along with one of the walls from the back room of the home. A shed was also demolished, and debris was strung out over several hundred yards. Two family members were home at the time the storm hit.
"BAM! Things started flying past the house, you couldn't even see out the door, and then we just ran downstairs to the basement quick," said Robert DeBusk, who lives a mile south of Eagle
"It seemed like there was a lot of hail, and we heard water kind of leaking into the house," said Abriana Campos, who also lives in the same house.
Nearby, another man's house was damaged by high winds. He said the storm hit very suddenly.
"The wind came up and it was like a bomb went off... Boom!" said Don Brinson, who also lives south of Eagle.
Cass County emergency management officials worked well into Monday night, and said it'll probably be daylight Tuesday morning before they know the full extent of damage, or have full confirmation on tornadic activity.

I appreciate your news coverage but wonder why there are so few reference maps on them. It is so much more understandable to see the locations of the stories in all cases than to just visualize from the stories using my sometimes lacking knowledge or memory. I still use a globe to get a better understanding of events.
