Lancaster County prosecutors have filed charges against two teenagers accused of killing a cat, then showing a video of the incident at their high school.

In court papers filed Thursday, prosecutors alleged Andrew Kratz, of Eagle, and Jacob Weichel, of rural Lincoln, cruelly mistreated the cat on March 13.

Weichel is accused of shooting the cat with a bow and arrow. The arrow hit the cat, but didn't kill it. Kratz allegedly picked up the cat by its tail and slammed it against a picnic table, then beat it with a log.

Authorities say a brother of one of the teens used his cell phone camera to record the incident, which was seen by several students at Waverly High School.

Kratz and Weichel face a court hearing on April 17.
