According to Butler County officials, the storm that hit David City blew in up to 8 inches of snow and blew down several power lines overnight.
Officials say nearly 50% of Butler County was without electricity Sunday.
Crews with Butler Public Power District were working since 11 p.m. Saturday to restore the power.
High winds also created dangerous driving conditions for drivers.
"Roads were real clear then all a suddden, you were going in a zero visibility area driving 50 to 60 miles per hour in areas that you should have been driving 5 miles per hour," Mark Hecker, Butler County Sherrif, said.
Sherrif Hecker said he spent the majority of the day pulling up to 30 cars out of ditches.
A shelter is set up at David City Fire Department for residents without power.
Butler County Emergency Management says the Village of Octavia, located 10 miles outside of David City, still doesn't have power.
Officials with the Butler Public Power District expect all power to be restored by Monday if conditions allow.
