Before any Husker game, you can find fans gearing up well before the game even begins. For nearly forty years, many fans have headed out to Misty's Steakhouse and Lounge for Football Fridays. John Turner has been coming for more than twenty years.

"It's just something that you do every Friday night before a game," says Turner.

He says the best part is all the people he's met along the way.

"The bigger share of people, if they've been coming here they know me. Not only here but all around the country," says Turner.

For Misty's, these Football Fridays require doubling the staff, but also bring in a big boost in sales.

"A lot of Misty's reputation falls back on Football Fridays. A lot of people know us for that," says manager Bob McMeen.

And it's not just Husker fans.

"It's one of the things that I think's really neat about Football Fridays. We do get a mixture of team colors and everything. We get some fans from the opposing team as well as all our Nebraska fans."

And this Friday, the sea of red did have some KU blue mixed in, cheering for their Jayhawks.

"We've lost 18 years in a row here but I know as much as Nebraska wants to win tomorrow, we have a streak that we want to end tomorrow," says Tom Groninger.

But no matter what team you're cheering for at Saturday's game, these fans say even having to wait an hour to get a seat at Misty's is worth it.

"You always have to do it before a game," says Jim Preston.

Misty's does have these Football Friday parties every Friday night before a home game. The manager says they've attracted visitors from all over the country in the nearly forty years they've been doing this.
