The host of C-B-S's "The Amazing Race" is using his popularity to help spread awareness and raise money for a cure for multiple sclerosis.
Phil Keoghan is biking across the country for the cause, and he set off from Los Angeles on March 28th. He plans to reach New York on May 9th, the day before the "Amazing Race" season finale airs on CBS.
After several stops in Nebraska, including cities like Holdrege earlier this week, Keoghan made a stop in Lincoln today (Thursday, April 16th), and stopped by the 10/11 studios to talk about his effort to help find a cure for M.S.
"I have the ability to move and I'm having an amazing time, and we are actually able to do something quite extraordinary," Keoghan says. "I got an e-mail from a woman the other day who just finished 25 operations related to M.S., and she just said how much she appreciated what we're doing, and that's what keeps me going."
If you would like to meet Keoghan, he will be making an appearance at the GNC store at Southpointe Pavilions in Lincoln on Friday, April 17th from Noon until 2 p.m.
