Lincoln police have arrested two men for driving a stolen car with a stolen rifle inside.

Officer Katie Flood said Samuel Nelson of Trumbull and Andrew Lyle of Omaha were pulled over Friday morning at 2:36 am for making an improper turn near 17th and Q.

Flood said the officer discovered the car was stolen from Hastings on March 19th or 20th. During a search of the vehicle Flood said the officer also found a rifle that was reported stolen from a Lincoln home in August of 2005.

Nelson and Lyle were arrested from possession of stolen property, possession of a stolen firearm, fictitious license plates and carrying a concealed weapon.

Flood said investigators believe the pair bought the car off the street in Omaha.
