Lincoln police said two of their officers were assaulted after a short vehicle pursuit.
Police said it started around 8 p.m. Friday with a traffic stop at 48th St. and Holdrege. They say the mini van initially stopped, then took off when an officer approached on foot.
According to police, they pursued the van to 46th St. and Orchard, where they arrested 35-year-old suspect Patricia Higgins.
Police said while they were taking Higgins into custody, she scratched one officer with her nails, and slapped the other officer in the head.
Police said they arrested Higgins on two counts of assault on an officer, driving while intoxicated, and several other counts.
They also said the officers suffered only minor injuries.
