The McCook City Council is considering a proposal to join with a Kearney group to provide air service from the area to Kansas City and Denver.

The proposal will be considered Monday night at a council meeting.

Tom Henning is chairman of the Kearney air transportation committee. He says the idea stems from a continuing effort to improve regional air service.

The group believes the customer base could double within a year or two by providing the flights. The groups says it has the support of Congressman Tom Osborne and Senator Chuck Hagel. It also expects to receive support from Senator Ben Nelson.
