The Service Employees International Union, or SEIU, started a "Change that Works" project, where stories from Nebraskans across the state who want health care reform are posted on YouTube.

"With our 24/7 project which means we are having videos every hour, on the hour for 24 hours straight," said Jane Fleming Kleeb, State Director of the SEIU's Change That Works Project. "We hope to accomplish that Nebraskans want health care reform now, that the status quo of our leaders essentially just being place holders on this issue has got to end."

The stories showcased on YouTube have Nebraskans across the state sharing what it is like to live without health insurance, their struggle to afford health insurance, or living with the fear of losing it.

"When Nebraskans are telling their story, health care comes alive," said Kleeb. "Health Care reform then becomes something more than just a piece of paper, it becomes something more than just a bill, it becomes Nebraskans. And when our Senators, Nelson and Johanns, are voting on health care reform, we want them to remember these stories."

Kleeb also says the goal is to get every Nebraskan covered.

"When we think about health care reform, our organization hopes that every man, woman, and child is covered and we really don't care how we get there, whether it's all private insurance, whether it's a combination of public and private, we just all Nebraskans to be covered."

A government owned and operated system funded by a national sales tax, run like the Veterans Administration Care System, with free prescribed care and medications, no insurance, no co pays, no precondition exceptions, free period, will end the nightmares for individuals using this government care. Businesses selecting public care for employees will not have to pay or be involved in health care period. Those happy with private insurance and care can continue with systems they like. Dual system; public or private. You choose. The Veterans Administration has been controlling the problems with access, cost, quality, and malpractice successfully for years. Millions of new health care workers will be needed forever.

I have to choose between myself or my kids and my husband (primary income) having insurance. I work part-time but don't have insurance. As a non-traditional student money is tight while I work on gaining an education to better our financil situation and help the community. There is NO way I can afford to pay for health insurance. Maybe if I walk to class and don't eat but one meal a day. Oh yes...did I mention I am a nursing student!
