Plattsmouth authorities are investigating possible charges after finding a house uninhabitable with more than thirty animals found inside.
Plattsmouth police officers said they received complaints about a strong cat urine odor coming from a home at 613 2nd Ave. in Plattsmouth. They also had information about an elderly female with health issues living in the house with four other adults in unsanitary conditions.
Police, assisted by Cass County Sheriff's Office investigators, animal control officers and Adult Protective Services, removed 33 cats, three ferrets, two dogs and a number of mice from the residence before proclaiming it uninhabitable. Police also said the home was infested with cockroaches.
Adult Protective Services found placement for the elderly female and the other four adults were relocated.
The investigation is ongoing with possible charges pending.
