Nearly 600 people rode their motorcycles Saturday in the fourth annual Rough Riders Call to Duty ride.
This year's ride honored fallen volunteer firefighter Jeremy Wach, who died while fighting a house fire in Wymore.
Six-hundred motorcycles went more than 40 miles through 5 cities all in memory of one man.
"Jeremy was always more concerned with how he could help others and make situations better for others as opposed to himself," said Melissa Wach, Jeremy Wach's wife. "He was never somebody to tell someone when they needed help. His career and his life was always about helping others, giving to others and making life easier for them.
"Jeremy being such a good friend of mine, to me he was a hero," said Rusty Frazier, the Call to Duty organizer.
Wach was killed in the line of duty on November 5, 2007 while fighting a house fire.
"Since the death of my son I have realized just how deep this bond goes with policemen, firemen. And the tradition goes on. And the respect they show for these gentlemen who have given heir lives in incredible," said Wach's mother, Debbie Brown.
"It's always nice, as a surviving family member, to know that others are remembering your loved one who has passed," said Melissa.
The motorcycle enthusiasts also hit the road to remember all of Nebraska's law enforcement officers and firefighters like Wach.
"His whole life was trying to help people, so this is my way of giving back in Jeremy's name to the others who are still doing it and risk their lives everyday," said Frazier.
"My son would be amazed by this respect that's given to not only him but to other firefighters who have died in the line of duty," said Brown.
With the money they have raised from the motorcycle ride, they hope to build a memorial to honor all of Nebraska's fallen heroes.
In past years, Frazier said the Call to Duty ride has been successful in raising money for phone cards for the military troops overseas.
