After a deal with prosecutors, a 23-year-old North Platte woman pleaded no contest to misdemeanors for helping a 17-year-old boy escape custody and hiding him in Carthage, Mo.
North Platte police say Brianna Turnbull helped the boy escape a group home for troubled teens in November. He had been sentenced there on burglary charges. Turnbull was working there.
The boy surrendered in February after Turnbull returned him to relatives in Trenton, Neb.
Her father is Lincoln County Judge Kent Turnbull.
Brianna Turnbull had been charged with two felonies: harboring a fugitive and aiding a juvenile to escape.
She pleaded no contest to attempted violation of a custody order, attempted juvenile escape and of contributing to the delinquency of a child.
