A Nebraska memorial service will be held next month for a soldier from Cozad who was killed in Iraq.

The father of Sgt. Justin Duffy says the service will be held in Cozad on July 12.

Joseph Duffy says his son will be buried near Moline, Ill., where Justin grew up and started school. The family moved to Cozad when Justin was in the sixth grade.

Duffy graduated from Cozad High School in 1995 and later from the University of Nebraska-Kearney. He joined the Army in June 2007.

The Defense Department says Duffy died in Baghdad on June 2 after a bomb exploded near his Humvee.

A burial Mass has been scheduled for Friday at Sacred Heart Church in Moline. Duffy's father says his son's body will be buried nearby at Rock Island National Cemetery.
