Kearney Woman Dies After Highway Collision

An autopsy has been ordered on the body of a Kearney woman who died after a collision Thursday morning on U.S. Highway 30 in south-central Nebraska.
The Buffalo County Sheriff's Office says 35 year-old Lori Phillips was eastbound in her Mazda van about 2 1/2 miles east of Kearney when it collide with a westbound semitrailer.
Authorities say Phillips was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, where she died.
The truck driver, 40-year-old Jeffery Forbes of Palmer, was not injured.
What caused the accident is still being investigated.
