Several members of the Sigma Chi fraternity at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln who were cited in connection with a hazing incident last fall appeared in Lancaster County Court Monday. Court records show the following:
Twenty-two year old Kyle Humphrey was charged with procuring/selling alcohol to a minor, hazing and theft by receiving stolen property. He was scheduled for disposition without a trial on July 9.
Nineteen year old James Glover pleaded not guilty to charges of procuring/selling alcohol to a minor and hazing. A jury trial was set for July 13.
Twenty-one year old Ian Dimka was found guilty for procuring/selling alcohol to a minor. Sentencing was scheduled for July 31.
Twenty-one year old Jonathan Knudsen pleaded not guilty to hazing and had a jury docket call set for August 3.
Twenty-two year old Michael Classen pleaded not guilty to charges of procuring/selling alcohol to a minor and hazing. A jury docket call was also set for August 3.
Twenty year old Keegan Anderson was charged with hazing and third degree assault and a bench trial was set for August 4.
Last week, 20-year old Samuel Bates and 22-year old Chris Wozniak were also found guilty of procuring/selling alcohol to a minor, with sentencing set for July 31 for both.
Court documents show that a freshman pledge reported at least four hazing incidents to UNL Police in February. The pledge claimed in one incident he was handcuffed, blindfolded, and sodomized by a stripper. UNL officials are conducting their own investigation and considering whether Sigma Chi fraternity will remain at UNL.
